Recently, my wife was trying to buy something on iTunes from her iPhone and she was asked to verify the billing information.
2020-2-13 To make purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, or Apple Books, or buy iCloud storage, you need an Apple ID and a valid payment method. You can typically use these methods with your Apple ID: Apple Pay (where available)Most credit and debit cards. I was facing a similar problem few weeks ago. I found out that I had installed an AdBlocker Extension to my browser which was blocking all these pop ups. When I disabled the extension and tried to do the transaction again, it worked. Microsoft Pay. Allow customers to securely make payments using Microsoft Pay on the web, in Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps, and via Microsoft Bot Framework bots. You can use Microsoft Pay to request any credit or debit card stored in your customer’s Microsoft.
When she tried to enter the security code on the back of the credit card, she would just keep getting “Security Code Invalid” even though it was perfectly correct. The odd thing was that I could buy stuff without any problems from my MacBook at home and from my iPhone.
Anyway, after being very frustrated by this silly error, I finally got it to work by sheer luck. Actually, I could not figure out what the problem was so I just didn’t do anything until the next day. When we tried to enter the security code after 24 hours, somehow it magically worked.
But after doing some research online, I found that this error can happen for all kinds of crazy reasons and it’s really annoying because you get no feedback as to why it won’t accept the security code. In this article, I’ve compiled a few of the reasons why it might fail for you and how you can try to fix the problem.
Try Re-entering Credit/Debit Info
The first thing you can do is to try and re-enter all the credit/debit card info and see if that works. In iTunes, go to Store and then View My Account.
Next, click on the Edit link next to Payment Type on the Account Summary page:
At the top, you will see a list of cards and the option for None. Go ahead and click on None and then click on Done.
Once that has been saved, go ahead and click Edit again and type in your credit card info again. Hopefully, it will accept the card info and you’ll be able to make purchases.
Make Sure Country Matches
Another issue that caused the security code problem for a lot of people was the fact that their country of residence in iTunes was different from the country for their credit or debit card.
So it’s a good idea to make sure the country for the billing address of your credit/debit card is the same as the country for your set region.
Locked Out Account
For whatever reason, there are times when you may try to purchase something and the payment request is denied by Apple. This could happen for different reasons, but basically your account gets locked out until the balance is paid off in full.
Unfortunately, the only way to do that is to use an iTunes gift card. So basically you have to purchase an iTunes gift card and then apply it to the balance. At this point, you account will become unlocked and you will be able to verify the security code for your credit card.
Check Address Carefully
Another reason this can occur is if the address you have entered in iTunes is slightly different than the address you have associated with your credit card. For example, if you live at 5525 North Mounes St and you have 5525 N Mounes St in iTunes, the two won’t match and you’ll get the security code error.
So it’s best to go to the website of your credit card or debit card company and check to see exactly what the address is and then make sure that is what you have entered in iTunes.
Deauthorize and Authorize Computer
You can also try to select None as the payment in your iTunes account and then deauthorize the computer.
Then go ahead and reauthorize the computer and enter the credit card info and hopefully you will be allowed to enter it without the error!
Try a Different Card
Normally the problem is with iTunes, but there is the rare occasion where you might actually not have enough balance in your bank account or enough credit on your card to make the purchase. Check that as a last resort if nothing else is working.
Also, you can try a different credit card if you really have to purchase something immediately, it should work that way.

- You don’t already have a Microsoft account that has the same information.
Resolutions
To resolve any errors, select the issue that you experience when you try to sign-up for Azure.
Error: We cannot proceed with sign-up due to an issue with your account. Please contact billing support.
To resolve the issue, follow these steps:
Log in to Azure account center by using the account administrator credential.
Select Edit details. Mac office business.
Make sure that all address fields are completed and valid.
When you sign-up for the Azure subscription, make sure that the billing address for the credit card registration matches your bank records.
If you continue to receive the error message, try to sign-up by using a different browser.

To complete the identity verification by card, third-party cookies must be allowed for your browser.
Use the following steps to update your browser's cookie settings.
If you're using Chrome, select Settings > Show advanced settings > Privacy > Content settings. Clear Block third-party cookies and site data.
If you're using Microsoft Edge, select Settings > View advanced settings > Cookies > Don't block cookies.
Refresh the Azure sign-up page, and then check whether the problem is resolved.
If the refresh didn't resolve the issue, exit and restart the browser, and then try again.
Credit card form doesn't support my billing address
Your billing address must be located in the country that you select in the About you section. Make sure that you select the correct country.
No text messages or calls during sign-up account verification
Although the process is typically quick, it may take up to four minutes for a verification code to be delivered. The phone number that you enter for verification isn't stored as a contact number for the account.
Here are some additional tips:
- A Voice-over-IP (VoiP) phone number can't be used for the phone verification process.
- Double-check the phone number that you enter, including the country code that you select in the drop-down menu.
- If your phone doesn't receive text messages (SMS), try the Call me option.
- Make sure that your phone can receive calls or SMS messages from a United States-based telephone number.
When you get the text message or telephone call, enter the code that you receive in the text box.
Credit card declined or not accepted
Virtual or pre-paid credit or debit cards aren't accepted as payment for Azure subscriptions. To see what else may cause your card to be declined, see your debit card or credit card is declined at Azure sign-up.
Free Trial is not available
Have you used an Azure subscription in the past? The Azure Terms of Use agreement limits free trial activation only for a user that's new to Azure. If you have had any other type of Azure subscription, you can't activate a free trial. Consider signing up for a Pay-As-You-Go subscription.
I saw a charge on my Free Trial account
You may see a small verification hold on your credit card account after you sign-up. This is removed within three to five days. If you are worried about managing costs, read more about preventing unexpected costs.
Can't activate Azure benefit plan like MSDN, BizSpark, BizSparkPlus, or MPN
Make sure that you're using the correct sign-in credentials. Then, check the benefit program to make sure that you're eligible.

- If you can't verify your status, contact the MSDN Subscriptions Customer Service Centers.
- Microsoft for Startups
- Sign in to the Microsoft for Startups portal to verify your eligibility status for Microsoft for Startups.

- MPN
- Sign in to the MPN portal to verify your eligibility status. If you have the appropriate Cloud Platform Competencies, you may be eligible for additional benefits.
- If you can't verify your status, contact MPN Support.
Can't activate new Azure In Open subscription

To create an Azure In Open subscription, you must have a valid Online Service Activation (OSA) key that has at least one Azure In Open token associated with it. If you don't have an OSA key, contact one of the Microsoft Partners that are listed in Microsoft Pinpoint.
Error: You are not eligible for an Azure subscription
To resolve this issue, double-check whether the following items are true:
- The information that you provided for your Azure account profile (including contact email address, street address, and telephone number) is correct.
- The credit card information is correct.
- You don’t already have a Microsoft account that uses the same information.
Error: Your current account type is not supported
This issue can occur if the account is registered in an unmanaged Azure AD directory, and it is not in your organization’s Azure AD directory.
